video footage

Heyup, i am trying to get video footage of my car being damaged outside a shop,the shop owner wouldent let me view the video,but did rewind the tape and said it does show my car being damaged,i called the cops and they said they would put the footage on a memory stick,that was two weeks ago and they still havent done it,im worried it will be lost,can my scum solisitor get the footage from the shop or how does the process work.....many thanks in advance

From what I understand & without researching further .You are entitled to any
footage that contains your image.
If it was a criminal act ,make sure the shop owner knows it an offence to
destroy evidence. Also if it was hit & run and whoever did it has not reported it
to plod thats also an offense . So I guess which ever way you look at it ,plod
should be put on notice that the shop owner has evidence of a crime and its their
duty to investigate it.

Failing that tell them your feelings have been hurt. They will then be around there
in mins.

Actually DaveIron is correct.It can be spelled either way and means exactly the same thing.

Heyup,i went back to the shop and ask the shop owner if i could view the footage because im in it,he is still saying only the cops can see it,would any of you know if there is any way or process to get the shop owner to hand over the video footage and how would i go about it...many thanks in advance
