Basic guide to forum posting

When you make a new topic you will see various icons above the text area ^right up here!
I will briefly go over the most important ones ...

Host an image will bring up a box which you can drag an image file from say your desktop and will embed into your post . The image will appear on the text line where ever the cursor was when you open the drag n drop box.
This will take up some of your allowed upload space so try and keep images as small as possible. You can edit most image files in windows paint or similar program. (400x400 pixels is quite large for an image , a photo of a document should be readable at 800pixels when displayed in your post)


Insert image is more like a link to an image elsewhere on the internet so does not take up your upload space . To use this you need the URL of the image you want to share. Right click on your desired image and select "copy image location" , this stores the URL of the image so you can paste it into the URL  box . Select a good size for your post , again 400px is about enough and larger can be too big to see on one page


This image is 400x400 ! plenty big enough !

Insert link Use this to link to other websites . You will need to copy the web address of the page you want to link from your browser search bar and paste it in the URL box . (usually just pasting directly to your post works for web links without using this function)

Insert youtube video again you need the URL (web address) of the youtube video you want to share. You can get this by copying from your browser search bar or there is a get URL option on youtube. The video will appear where ever the cursor is highlighting in the text field.

Referencing other threads in your posts can be done by copying the link location of the thread title and pasting it into your post .
eg i will link to the Richard d hall thread , right click the thread title and select "copy link location" , then paste .... https://goodf.forumotion.com/t617-latest-rich-planet-vids-richard-hall
We can also reference individual replies the same way  so here i want to reference the Jill Dando video, copy the link location of the reply title... https://goodf.forumotion.com/t617-latest-rich-planet-vids-richard-hall#16826
