Operation OAP Winter

With the temperatures plunging its been time to look out for the OAP's and disabled in your area and that is what we have done this week and for many people it is really simple abd basic things they need and as many also live in older houses they have CHIMNEYS which means they have fire grates and the means to burn wood or home produced logs from waste and this is where we began as some locals answered their phones to local OAP's or disabled people looking for help. In many cases it was as simple as two lads going round and sweeping their chimneys and smoke testing them and if necessary remove any caps put on them to block them and sweep and smoke test again and check they were drawing correctly and safely and ensuring other local neighbours kept an eye on them as they were burning wood and had one warm room.
Many also had their old hearth sets which were put back into position and their old fire guards which were also pressed into service as were many garden sprayers filled with water and pumped up just in case and many of their neighbours were sending round their children to put logs from outside inside to dry and rotating the dried logs into the basket for burning to ensure they had sufficient fuel for the day and another charity supplied battery powered CO meters for early warning of any potential fires.

Many have simply spread salt and/or gravel on paths and drives to melt any snow and ice to make it safer to walk on and to simply walk up to a window and quickly look in on a neighbour to check they are OK as many now sleep in their warm room so have blankets, pillows, and quilts downstairs and have their settee in their warm room.

It takes but a couple of minutes to check on an elderly or disabled person and only seconds to summon help and it you or another neighbour have a key it is easy to get in if you suspect something is wrong and prevent the po-lice breaking the door down.

Perfect timing amazingly ..
Folks last recourse to keep warm and they're pushing to ban that ..
The more folk wake up to the truth the sooner we can all get back to a near livable standard of life ...

I would like to see the actual report if you know where it can be accessed. Not doubting what you say in the slightest but the press coverage is a bit contradictory leaving it not clear exactly what he was complaining about.

They have been running exercises and look fir Drakken planes as these are doing the grid patterns to allegedly check and monitor the exercises.
